INDOOR COMMUNION: ELENA

When Rosa arrived at the studio on the first day, she kept asking me about communion sessions since her eldest daughter, Elena, was going to receive her first communion that same year. We talked, and after confirming that she wanted an indoor session, Rosa asked if she could come another day with the guest of honor to see and meet me—and of course, yes, and of course they came! Elena is a little shy and quiet at first, but when she smiles, she lights up everything. We chatted about her interests, and she told me she really loves cameras (we were over the moon) and Funko Pop figures, even though she didn’t have many to display in a setting and have them be part of her session. That wasn’t a problem at all because at Aps Fotografía we’re a little (very) geeky, and we offered her ours! So, without further ado, we set a date and hoped that she would eagerly arrive on the day of the session.

On the scheduled day, Elena arrived at the studio accompanied by her parents and her little sister, all dressed in their best attire to support their big sister during this very special moment. As is customary when little girls want an indoor studio shoot, we went through all four of our settings. Elena chose to start with the pink setting—a setup that has been a hit ever since we introduced it, and it’s truly beautiful. In that setting, we dared to incorporate one of the items she had brought, and her sister also wanted to join in.

We then moved on to the swing and her instant camera. Third, we used our famous window—a setting that moms are initially a bit reluctant to use for photos, but once they see the results, it quickly becomes one of their favorites because it exudes an incredible sense of serenity and elegance. On this occasion, Elena wanted to be accompanied by her favorite doll, which she’s had since she was a baby, and who are we to say no?

Finally, in the last setting, her parents wanted to join her to capture a beautiful family memory. Once we finished the fun family photos, we continued with our star alone. Then came the moment we love the most: tousling the hair of my little models. And Elena looked absolutely stunning with her hair all disheveled! You might not notice it at first glance, but for us, it’s one of our favorite shots.

There’s really not much more to say about such a smooth and quick session, because Elena made everything flow magnificently. It’s also worth mentioning that her dad kept showering his little girl with compliments until she finally managed to smile, even when it was a bit challenging. We had such a great time that her little sister even cried because she didn’t want to take off her dress and stop taking photos with her sister. All that’s left is for you to see the results for yourselves. We simply want to thank Rosa and her family for choosing us, and our little Elena for showing us just how much she loved her album.
