MATERNITY REPORT: RAQUEL
When we found out that Raquel was going to be a mom, we couldn’t have been happier—especially since we already knew these future parents from before, having previously done an outdoor couples session with them (you can see it in the Books section).
When we talked about how she wanted the session to be, she told me she wanted something different from what we did at Parque Oromana—something more intimate in the studio that would create a cozier atmosphere. And what a great idea that turned out to be!
They arrived with the same excitement as always, with as much (or even more) eagerness to be in our hands for this very special occasion, as they await little Álvaro’s arrival.
I should mention that Raquel was just as photogenic as the first time she stepped in front of our camera, so there was hardly anything for us to do except set up the lights, guide her on posing, and start shooting. We always joke with her husband Joaquín that there isn’t a single shot where Raquel doesn’t look amazing.
We used, as usual, a white background—this part of the session allowed us to capture natural light, happiness, and tender emotions. However, when it was time for the black background to take center stage, we moved into the more intimate part of the session.
All we can say is that they made it very easy for us—the love and connection between them did all the work. That complicity and adoration they share resulted in these beautiful photographs. We’d also like to point out that from the very first minute, they connected on such a deep level that their natural selves shone through, no matter that we were there to capture every moment.
There are sessions that feel very special, just as these people are.
In both setups, Raquel had the opportunity to showcase her baby bump on her own and to reveal the beautiful body of a pregnant woman.
I don’t have much more to say about them—like we’ve mentioned before, it’s better for you to see for yourself. Enjoy these images, because I’ve been delighted with them ever since they first walked through our door! We leave you with the future parents.
